Am I eligible to join?
To join the IMA, you must:
- Support the aims and purpose of the IMA
- For those producing news, we require outlets to be regulated by IMPRESS and/or for their core team to be NUJ members and to adhere to the NUJ code of conduct, within six months of joining
- Financial independence – your organisation must have 50% or less of revenue from the state or multinational corporate sources.
Is there a cost?
Joining the IMA is completely free, although we welcome donations.
I run multiple publications, can they all join?
Yes! When you register your interest, we’ll be in touch with you to discuss your specific needs.
However, it's the publisher who gets a vote in decisions at the IMA, not the individual publications.
Do you have members in Scotland/Wales/Northern Ireland?
We have members from every constituent nation of the UK – you can find them on our members map here.
